Here we share some of the questions most commonly put to our skincare experts. If you have a skincare question please do email us on email@example.com
Which products should I use if I’m new to Bee Good? As our formulations are gentle and work in harmony with your skin you can feel confident introducing any of our products into your current skincare regime. If you haven’t yet found your ideal skincare routine we’d recommend cleansing and moisturising twice a day as an introduction to achieving healthy and vibrant skin.
Look after your skin with a gentle and effective cleanser twice a day. It’s a critical part of any skincare regime.
If you’re looking for speed and convenience our Honey &Water Mint 3-in1 Cleansing Water will quickly and effortlessly remove makeup and cleanse and tone the skin leaving it refreshed and soothed - no water required!
If you prefer a slightly deeper cleanse reach for our Honey & Propolis 2-in-1 Cream Cleanser with its pure muslin cloth. When combined with the cloth this creamy formulation will stimulate circulation, remove dead skin cells that can make your skin dull and de-hydrated, remove all your makeup, and prepare your skin perfectly for your other skincare essentials.
Moisturise It’s essential for our skin since water is vital to our overall health and wellbeing. Using an effective moisturiser will replace lost hydration and moisture that occurs whilst we’re sleeping as well as whilst we go about our daily lives.
Honey & Wild Flax Daily Moisturiser for Normal and Combination skins is a must have for rejuvenated, revitalised and hydrated, healthy looking and vibrant skin. Use morning and evening after cleansing. If you’re looking for additional benefits and to help address the signs of ageing upgrade to the Youth Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser. It’s loaded with rich antioxidants, powerful hydrators, essential fatty acids and firming ingredients.
I have oily skin, do I still need to moisturise? All skin, however oily, needs nurturing with vitamins and essential fatty acids twice a day, morning and night to ensure that it's in the best possible condition. Look for a light and non-greasy moisturizer that is easily absorbed into the skin.
Do your moisturisers contain an SPF’s (sun protection factors)? No, since we recommend that you re-apply your sunscreen every couple of hours to ensure a constant level of protection from UVB and UVA rays throughout the day. Our moisturisers are carefully formulated to use day and night and you do not require a sunscreen at night. To ensure adequate protection of your skin, cleanse, moisturise and then apply a specific SPF product. You may also wish to apply an SPF make up base to provide an added sunscreen that can be topped up during the day.
How does a Cleansing Water work? Cleansing water is a solution that contains molecules known as ‘micelles’ which have the perfect composition in that they contain water loving and water loathing elements. When these molecules touch the skin they break down and as they do so they trap and remove make up, dust, pollution and excess sebum on the skin. Oil and dirt on your face is swept away quickly and efficiently.
When would I use a Cleansing Water? Naturally derived micellar water is the best cleanser for anyone ‘on-the-go’ and gentle enough to use all over the face including your delicate eye area. Pop it onto cotton wool pads and sweep across the whole face – it’s as simple as that! Cleansing waters are great for travel or for situations where no running water is easily available. Whether you’re heading off on a flight (ours is in a handy 100ml size so you can pop it into your hand luggage), off to a music festival or camping trip, or just want the added convenience of one-step cleansing, micellar cleansing waters mean you don’t need to compromise your skincare routine.
Why should I exfoliate? Our skin naturally renews itself every 28 days, but as we get older this process slows down meaning that skin cells can accumulate on the surface, leaving us with dull, uneven skin which lacks radiance. Whether you have dry, normal, oily or combination skin, exfoliation at least once a week is a really important step in helping to ensure a healthy, glowing complexion.
By exfoliating, you are removing the dead skin cells that accumulate on the top layer of your skin, which in turn will brighten your complexion and help your skincare products absorb and perform at their best. By sloughing away dead skin cells, exfoliation can help to keep pores from becoming clogged which can in turn help to avoid blackheads and spots. Blocked pores can also appear larger, so although you can't reduce the actual size of your pores, if you are concerned, you can help to diminish their appearance by keeping them clean, unclogged and clear.
When would I use the Youth Enhancing range? Keeping up with the demands of the environment and our individual lifestyle choices can take a toll on our skin. Whilst we may not be looking for a dramatic change in our appearance, for many of us it’s all about achieving healthy skin that’s comfortable, less challenged and with a natural vibrancy whatever our age.
Our Youth Enhancing skincare is a range of naturally based facial products formulated to work in conjunction with your daily regime to target specific skin concerns and visibly reduce the signs of ageing. Each product will support your skin where you feel it most needs an extra boost.
Are your products suitable for eczema and problem skins? We have consciously removed many of the known irritants from our formulations to ensure that they are as gentle and comfortable as possible for sensitive skins. We don't use any parabens, synthetic colours, mineral oil, silicone, SLS or SLES and we use botanical ingredients and plant oils that have a close synergy with the skin. In addition to the combined benefits of natural skin comforters honey, propolis and beeswax, echium oil is unique as it contains nature’s richest source of SDA, a form of anti-inflammatory that is excellent in reducing skin inflammation. Echium and camelina oil (wild flax), rich in Omega 3 are both known to support improvements to certain skin sensitivities. In all cases we highly recommend patch testing before general application, and for anyone suffering from specific skin conditions we suggest you talk to your GP in advance of applying any skincare products to these sensitive areas.
Are your products safe to use throughout pregnancy? Our products are formulated to be safe to use during pregnancy, however we would suggest that you seek advice from your GP, midwife or a qualified aromatherapist before using the products in our range if you believe that you may respond adversely to products containing essential oils. Why would I use a Muslin cloth? When used in conjunction with our Honey & Propolis 2-in-1 Cream Cleanser the muslin cloth works as a natural exfoliator to help slough away dead skin cells that can make complexions dull. Exfoliation is an important part of any skincare routine and should be gentle enough not to irritate even sensitive skins. Our Muslin cloth is soft enough that you can use it twice a day, every day. It's kind to the skin and leaves you with glowing, naturally fresh looking skin.
How do I wash the Muslin cloth? Launder with your normal white wash. If you have very sensitive skin and find detergent residue irritates, try washing the cloths in soap flakes or boiling them in plain water.
Are your products suitable for men? Although men’s skin differs from women’s we all need to maintain the moisturisation and hydration needed for healthy, happy skin. Since men tend to have thicker skin and higher levels of collagen, it can be more prone to hormonal sebum production leading to increased breakouts and blocked pores. With the added factor of hair growth men need skincare that can address moisture, excess sebum and hydration. Our active British ingredients include Wild Flower Honey – natures’ miracle moisturiser, antibacterial Propolis, repairing and protective Beeswax, as well as deeply hydrating Crambe Oil and GLA rich Borage Oil. This makes our skincare suitable for everyone. For specific ingredients FAQ's please click here.
