Brightening The Skin Going Into Winter

As autumn becomes winter some of our native bee species will be going into hibernation mode – apart from honey bees of course which stay active through the winter months. Humans too, need to prepare for winter months, not least our skin which can become dry, sensitive and itchy as we switch from dry centrally-heated cosiness to the crisp cold wind, rain, ice and snow outdoors. Luckily we’ve got some skin remedies for you straight from the hive.

Take another look at your daily skincare routine as the seasons change and winter sets in. You’ll need a gentler, creamy cleanser to ensure brightness in winter months as it’s best not to strip chapped and dry skin further with harsh detergents and sulphates. Our Bee Good Honey and Propolis 2 in 1 Cream Cleanser is ideal for removing make up, grime and pollution and leaving skin soft and also bright.

To stay really bright and radiant when weather is inclement, exfoliation is another vital part of your basic skin regime. Dry and chapped winter skin requires gentle exfoliation around twice a week to slough off the dead skin cells and pollution build-up and give the products in your hydrating arsenal a chance to really be absorbed deeply and effectively. Bee Good’s Honey and Camelina Facial Exfoliatorcontains no environmentally polluting micro beads and is soft and caring enough for sensitive, chapped and dry areas, lifting away flaking old debris with the emollient kindness of honey, beeswax and propolis in the formulation too.

If manual exfoliation isn’t for you, you can get a similar brightening effect from an enzyme mask such as Bee Good’s NectaPerfecta. This multi-tasking 4-in-1 enzyme mask can be used either as a flash mask or a slightly longer treatment and gently exfoliates the skin without stripping it or removing essential nutrients. It can be used from scalp to toes - wherever you have challenged, hormonal or dehydrated skin to keep your skin glowing and radiant, supple and silky!

With a few simple changes to your routine, you can keep your skin looking bright, even in the darkest days of winter!
