I was driving through Fleet the other day having picked up some beekeeping books from a colleague when I came across this sight on a piece of ground at a small road junction....
A breathtakingly beautiful sight of hundreds of Crocuses all in full bloom at the same time!
If you look carefully, you can just see a bumblebee that was inside one of the flowers. There were a number of them working hard to get a very welcome feed of early pollen and nectar from dozens of flowers.
It's very rare to see so many crocus flowers all together at the same time as they rapidly collapse once the bees have done their job and pollenated the flower... Now I know spring is truly on its way!
